Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

From the attached logs I can see this:

mysqld will log errors to /var/log/mysql/error.log
mysqld is running as pid 4837
Error: Unable to shut down server with process id 4837
dpkg: error processing package mysql-server-8.0 (--configure):
installed mysql-server-8.0 package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

Which means there is a mysqld process with PID 4837 that is running and it was not properly stopped during the installation process of the new version. It looks like you have a mysql server running in your system via other means, for instance a docker container. Am I right?
