Bug Description

Not really a bug, but it took me a while to find that the rights of /var/cache/bind need to be set to the user "bind". "bind" is the user named is running from on (L)Ubuntu 20.04.

I copied my /etc/bind/named.conf.options from another computer running (L)Ubuntu 18.04 which doesn't/didn't have any problems with the proper rights to the cache folder.

@ellenkampguus,

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

Based on your description it seems to me you wanted to document the
finding more than anything else and we really appreciate your effort.

However, if you believe that this is really a bug in Ubuntu, then we would
be grateful if you would provide a more complete description of the problem
with steps to reproduce, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu
rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug
status back to "New".

For local configuration issues, you can find assistance here:
