Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
RELEASE: Oneiric Ocelot daily builds
CD/DVD VARIANT: 32bit and 64bit Xubuntu Desktop images
ISO BUILD: 21 June 2011
SYMPTOMS: During the installation using the Xubuntu Desktop images, "download updates while installing" is now automatically checked. This should be an "opt-in" instead of an "opt-out" option. Not all users have unlimited bandwidth and download ability. Many users must pay high fees for going over the monthly allotment. Having this checked by default could be extremely costly for people who do not realize it is checked and will cost them money.
CAUSE: Nothing appears to have been done recently to change this option. However, it was not automatically checked in the past.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. download the desktop image for 21 June 2011
2. install using the image downloaded
3. see attached screenshot for the page this option is on, and the resulting checkmark before any key is hit.
