Bug Description

Hi,

as the version of gstreamermm differ in Debian and Ubuntu (0.10.9 <-> 0.10.11) I need some Ubuntu specific patched for subtitleeditor. I prepared a version 0.41.0-2ubuntu1 and attached the file. I don#t havea Ubuntu system at hand so I can't build the package and upload it somewhere. I tested the patched with a private build of gstreamermm 0.10.11.

Could you tell me what's the normal procedure here?

Best,
Philip

subtitleeditor (0.41.0-2ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=medium

  * Depend on gstreamermm >= 0.10.11
  * Remove debian/patches/02-fix-playbin.patch:
    + Fixed in new gstreamermm version
  * Add debian/patches/01-textoverlay.patch:
    + Get textoverlay working with gstreamermm 0.10.11
  * Add debian/patches/02-keyframe_generation.patch:
    + Prevent crash when generating keyframes with gstreamermm 0.10.11

Thank you for your work, could you explain why you need those changes? Is the new gstreamermm incompatible with the previous version in some way? Is that considered a bug in that source?

Hi,

sorry for not explaining anything. I'm not really sure but I think those are bugs in subtitleeditor that are revealed by the new version of gstreamermm. Here are the corresponding bug reports from upstream:

Get textoverlay working with gstreamermm 0.10.11:
https://gna.org/bugs/?20793

Prevent crash when generating keyframes with gstreamermm 0.10.11:
https://gna.org/bugs/?20653

Hope that clarifies things. Actually subtitleeditor is pretty useless in Ubuntu without the patches.

Best,
Philip
