How about the translations template changes? Can we drop them too?

I just ran a debdiff, and this was the only difference:

$ debdiff gtk2-engines_2.20.2-2ubuntu2_amd64.deb ../pbuilder/trusty_result/gtk2-engines_2.20.2-3_amd64.deb

Files in second .deb but not in first
-------------------------------------
-rw-r--r-- root/root /usr/share/doc/gtk2-engines/changelog.gz

It looks like the .pot file isn't even being generated in Ubuntu's version (if it's not already in Debian's). Also, the "Translations" tab is grayed out for this package, so this seems like a nonissue for me. Do you have any insight into this?

The .pot file is not installed in the package, but required during the build for pkgbinarymangler.

Okay, so would you suggest a merge instead? I am not very experienced with translations.

To me it looks like a merge is necessary. AFAIK you could just try to build the package locally, running 'debuild' and see if the .pot file is available after the build.

Changing this to a merge bug. I would propose a merge, but it looks like this is maintained in a separate packaging branch.
