Note that debian ships a later version in unstable. That one has one of the build failures fixed, whereas the other one is still present and tracked in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=713713

This bug was fixed in the package ardour - 1:2.8.14-2ubuntu4

  * Revert the last two uploads and replace with patches from David
    Henningsson to fix both FTBFS issues in one shot (LP: #1233685)
