Bug Description

Hi! Here's the problem:

1. Boot in Ubuntu install CD. Choose "Russian" as language. Choose "install" (on right).

2. Nothing interesting, move on

3. Move on
http://screencloud.net/v/hOH8

4. City selection screen. I want to choose "Kiev" (Ukraine), but keyboard types in Russian.
I want to switch to English, but Alt+Shift doesn't do the job and there's no language indicator

Proposed solution:
Add language indicator that has chosen language + english (just in case).

There are two keyboard layout indicators available.
One is for alternative input types the second one offers keyboard layouts.
By default in Russian it has different types of Russian Keyboards.
You can setup an english one there as well.

Oh, I missed that one, sorry. So, are these are still valid?

1. display language indicator.
2. add english to default for russian language (since later you will want to input your user and password in english)

I think the real problem is that even though geoname look up has localised names of places (transliterated) it does not have localised spellings. Such that at that page we really need latin based keyboard, regadless of the final/selected keyboard layout or language.

This can either be fixed by selecting latin based locale, offer to switch to one.
Or have the geoname lookup database full of alternative spellings in localised writting systems.

Examples:
http://geoname-lookup.ubuntu.com/?query=Moskva - returns many results
http://geoname-lookup.ubuntu.com/?query=Киев - returns none

summary: - Keyboard layout on installation in russian
+ Cannot perform geoname look up of locations, because keyboard layout is
+ non latin, when booted into e.g. Russian Locale
